|First||Can move forward one square|
|Second||Can capture diagonally|
|Third||Player starts with 8 Pawns|
A Pawn is a Chess piece.
Each Player starts with 8 pawns. They move straight ahead, one square at a time, but on a pawn's first move, it can chose to move up one or two squares. Pawns capture diagonally, but cannot move diagonally unless capturing. Pawns are good at forming a wall to defend against enemy attack. They can also turn into any piece except for a king. However, Pawns are the only piece that you can't move backward so you don't want to move too many at once.
